THE WATERFRONT RESTAURANT

Old Florida Spirit. Timeless Island Flavor.

Welcome to The Waterfront Restaurant on Anna Maria Island, where dining feels like stepping into a simpler, more peaceful Florida. Set against the emerald waters of Tampa Bay, this beloved island spot captures the essence of “Old Florida” charm with lush greenery, warm wood interiors, and a relaxed, coastal atmosphere. Family-owned and operated by Jason and Leah Suzor, The Waterfront is known for its fresh, locally inspired menu featuring both classic and adventurous dishes, complemented by craft cocktails and a refined microbrew and wine bar.

Originally built in 1922 as “Lorraine Cottage,” this historic property began as one of Anna Maria Island’s earliest homes. Over the decades, it evolved from art gallery to ice cream parlor to family restaurant before being reborn as The Waterfront in the late 1990s. When a fire in 2004 destroyed much of the original structure, only the stone fireplace and back building remained. Those treasured elements were lovingly preserved in the restaurant’s reconstruction, blending the spirit of the past with a refreshed design that opened in 2005.

Today, guests are invited to linger over coastal flavors like picatta, pesto, mojo, and au poivre—enhanced by rare seasonal offerings from local watermen. Whether dining inside amid handcrafted wood paneling or outdoors under the sea breeze, every meal celebrates island living at its best.

Afterward, stroll the sugar-white sands, take in the famous Gulf sunset, and experience a slice of paradise that’s pure Anna Maria.
