Roessler’s is a local family owned restaurant, established in 1978, offering a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence wine list, traditional continental cuisine with a commitment to using only the highest quality ingredients, and a dining experience of impeccable service.

Situated on nearly three acres of manicured gardens and a beautiful lake with a bridge and gazebo, Roessler’s is one of the most romantic restaurants on the west coast of Florida!

Klaus A. Roessler was born in Germany and got his formal chef training in Switzerland. After working in some of Switzerland’s famous hotels, Klaus A. Roessler was hired to facilitate the wedding for the CEO’s daughter of the Hyatt Corporation. The CEO was so impressed with Klaus that they offered him a job to come to America to work for Hyatt Corporation. Klaus took the job and became the youngest Executive Chef in Hyatt Corporation history. He then became the executive chef for the famed Brennans of New Orleans. While opening restaurants in Dallas and Houston as the corporate executive chef, Klaus met and married Linda. The couple returned to her home state of Florida to open their restaurant. They opened the Flight Deck in Venice, FL, in 1978. The Flight Deck quickly became recognized as the premier fine dining restaurant in the area, including being featured in Gourmet magazine. Looking to expand, they found a property in South Sarasota in 1985.

The property located on Vamo Way was part of the former Honore Palmer Ranch estate. The estate was called Pepper Hill. This remains a historic landmark in Palmer Ranch. In 1997 Klaus’s son, Klaus S. Roessler became executive chef and continues to run the restaurant along with his sister Marilyn and their mother Linda.

Roessler’s Restaurant continues to offer classical continental cuisine, with a New Orleans and French background. They continue to only use the finest ingredients to make dishes from scratch. The Restaurant also features one of the area’s most awarded and comprehensive wine programs in the area.
